About the film "My sister’s keeper" (2009)

The film is based on the novel “My sister’s Keeper”, by Jodi Picoult, played brilliantly by Cameron Diaz, Abigail Breslin and Sofia Vassiliera. Produced by Stephen Furst. This drama tells the story of Kate who suffers from leukemia. Her family in order to keep her life force the younger daughter who was conceived in vitro to donate a kidney to the sick sister. Tired of fighting for keeping her life, Kate made an arrangement with her sister that she no more wants to continue to make her sister mutilate her body to keep her life. As it was made in secret, Ana looked for a lawyer for her medical emancipation. Their mother will not accept that, and will try to force Ana to donate the kidney to her sister. An incredible mix of thoughts and feelings, this movie will make you think more about life. I recommend this film!

Hindu Temple

I had this fantastic opportunity to visit a Hindu Temple in Trinidad.

One of the most marvelous things that I realized when I was visiting the Hindu Temple was the fact that we have different religious, cultures and races around the world. I couldn't imagine how dull the world would be without these differences. Though you have your own religion and your own thoughts, we need to give value about our differences between each other and respect them. Yesterday, I learned exactly that.

During my discovery at this Temple, I had met a kind man who explained something about the Hinduism, like: what those images were representing, what we need to do to follow the Hinduism, about the particular power of each gods, and what will happen with us after the death.

Nowadays I am not following any religion, I believe in God; however I don’t think that I will be a good person if I follow a specific religion. The Temple’s architecture is fantastic. My first impression about this structure was that it had been built 200 years ago. But to my surprise the Temple is only nine years old! Can you imagine that? They are really detailer and they preserve their architecture.

Do you know that people who follow the Hinduism are cremated after die? The elder told me about the importance in this ritual, he said “you need to give back all that you borrowed from the earth, if you are a good person and had been following god’s order, you will reincarnate on a new body, if not you will reincarnate on inferior kind of nature, like a dog”. I hope I am being a good guy, sometimes I bark like a dog, but being a dog would be terrible.

Good and Bad

Hi everybody! I am sorry for don’t upload my blog those days. I was really busy during this week. It has happening good and boring thing in this week. On Tuesday some friends and I went to the cinema, they had invited me on Monday to watch a movie. We watched “Fast Five” the kind of famous action Hollywood movie. This film had been filmed in Brazil, specifically in Rio de Janeiro. It is the kind of movie for those who prefer action like: car accidents, explosions, murders, blood everywhere and loud screams. I didn’t appreciate this movie at all, the production made a terrible mistake because they had not invited Brazilians actors to act in this film. When they were speaking in Portuguese, I easily realized that they weren’t native Portuguese speaker, their accent was awful! Definitely, I prefer comedy or Disney animation than action. I can’t say that I wasted my time, it was a good experience, by the way, I had never been to a big cinema like this.

The frustrating thing that happened today, I mean, I needed to go to the Immigration Division of Trinidad and Tobago. After been waiting for three and a half hour I was interviewed by an officer. She asked “strange” questions and required many documents to prove that I am a right Brazilian citizen. You have no idea how stressed it was and believe me I need to come back to this terrible place again! One of her requirements was about my bank statement. I can’t stand these bureaucratic situations.
